Conducting Free Music Classes for the Youth
Harmony Project Phoenix provides children from low-income communities with free access to quality music education. Serving more than 200 students, our nonprofit organization offers various mentoring programs that help them become productive and responsible citizens. We also organize orchestras, bands, and choirs to promote social inclusion among our students.

Our Mission
Harmony Project harnesses the transformative power of music to increase access to higher education for underserved students by removing systemic barriers to achievement through academic and social support.

Why We Do It
The unequal distribution of economic, political, and cultural power in the United States puts many children at a disadvantage, leaving their talents undiscovered. We strive to give them a fair chance at maximizing their untapped potentials by offering free music mentorship.
Our Programs
We foster a musical ecosystem where cultural and ethnic diversity is celebrated. Our initiatives accommodate children of different ages and skill levels. These will be held by instructors who reflect the community they serve. On a year-round basis and at no cost, our learners will be offered the following:
Music Instruction
Each one of our programs’ participants will receive an instrument. They will also get 3 to 10 hours of weekly after-school music lessons from an instructor throughout the year.
Culturally Responsive Teaching Practices
Guided by the “teach to learn, learn to teach” principle, our music mentors will foster a collaborative environment and establish strong bonds with their students.
Authentic Assessment
Implemented in all classes for all age levels throughout the school year, this project lets them showcase their newly found abilities. We will also assess how they apply socio-emotional competencies like autonomy, creativity, and empathy in real-life situations.
Peer Mentoring
We let our learners gain support from each other through one-on-one mentoring growth opportunities. These will let them hone their social skills and gain valuable experiences.
College Attainment Services
Together with Arizona State University, we offer year-round counseling and bilingual workshops to help our students graduate and meet college entrance qualifications. We will also guide them through college and financial aid applications.
